Tips about New Delhi
Caution: Your tuk-tuk driver will seem to be your best friend when you’ll arrive in New Delhi. He’ll show you some beautiful areas and monuments for free or little money. Then, he’ll buy you a “chaï” (tea) and he’ll have won your trust. You’ll be pleased as well. After all, he’ll tried to help you. For example, to quit New Delhi. He’ll bring you in an agency where they’ll try to sell you a tour (even flexible). Obviously, they’ll lie about lot of things to sell to you as much as possible. I’m not telling you that it is a fake tour, it’ll just cost you more than expected. So, take care about that. It is possible to get a ticket by yourself, don’t trust everyone. There is only one official office at the train station but the way to find it, will be difficult because everyone’ll show you the wrong direction. You must dare to say « No! » or at least, negotiate a lot. You can also book your travel online, it’s quite complicated, but not impossible. So, if you want to book an organized tour, I would recommend you to discuss with several agencies to compare their prices. At the end, your driver will also try to take you in a shop to sell you nice suit or shirt and get his commission.
