Phong Nha is a small town on the riverside. It is known for the many caves around the city, each more impressive than the other.

Vinh :

Vinh is a city in centre of Vietnam. It is a quite big town but we can’t say you much about it, except that the people warmly welcomed us. It a good place to arrive from or go to Phonsavan in Laos.

No ATM in or around the bus station (the one nearby the airport). We didn’t find neither a shuttle to reach the city centre from there. So, you have to take a taxi or try by foot (if you are lucky somebody will stop and pick you up).

Khe Shan :

Khe Shan is a city in the mountains, in centre of Vietnam. It is mainly a transit town for the travellers who came here by motorbike. We stopped there for one night between Phong Nha and Hue.

Hoi An is undoubtedly the most charming city of Vietnam. It is not without reason that it is classified at the patrimony of UNESCO. Hence, it is one of the most touristic places of the country. We loved the time spent there.

A pass exists, for 120 000 VND. It allows you to visit 5 places among the 22 dispersed in the old quarter. There are many places where the pass is not needed. So, you should first walk around the old city without take the pass and if you still want it then you can buy it.

Try the specialities of the town: Cao Lau, My Quan, Com Ga, the different cakes sell in the streets and the Dau Pho (fresh dessert made of sweet soja).
